More than 3,500 LBS?

One key buying factor in this segment will be towing capacity that's around 3,500-4,500 LBS due to my towing needs for a range of recreational uses since I do live an active lifestyle.
Seeing how the outgoing RDX got up to 3,500 LBS it was one reason for looking into this next generation model, however no towing stats have been produced so far. What sort of towing capacity can we expect with the new platform?

Towing capacity for the older gen RDX is just 680 kg or around 1500 lbs. Not sure if Acura is looking to improve that drastically because it was never really designed as a towing car to begin with.

We could see a slight increase as the new model does have an additional 30lb-ft of torque, but seeing as how its also using a smaller turbocharged engine I would imagine the figures to stay the same. And I don't know where you got the 3,500lb figures from. From what I'm seeing the 2018 model could only tow 1500lbs.

I have the tow package and they are only listing a 1500 lb for purchase. I hope that helps.

This isn't the vehicle to go with if you have any serious hauling needs. Take a step up to the larger MDX if that's the case, its also seen a great redesign.

Anyone needing to squeeze a few hundred more from towing should look into different hitch class options.
Often they let you tow a bit more, so the RDX towing cap might not be an entire dealer breaker

I'd love to buy a hitch and tow my ranger boat,,, but at 3,500 lbs,, I hardly think she'd like it very much,,,,
